• Nekrolog, 1944. Mrs. John Olson Dies Friday Mrs. John Olson, 70, passed away Friday night at the Payette General hospital, where she underwent a major operation two weeks ago. Etta Naomi Sanders was born November 22, 1871 at Monroe, Wisconsisn, where she lived until 1884 when she moved with her family to Nebraska. On April 15, 1895, she was married to John C. Olson in Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Olson moved to Payette in 1927. Besides her husband, she leaves seven daughters, Mrs. Martha Williams of Payette, Mrs. Paula Blummer of Bridal Veil, Ore., Mrs. Grace Monteth of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Lois McIntire of Webster City, Iowa, Mrs. Myrtle Brown of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Olive Bradshaw of Roscoe, Calif., and Ethel Doerch of Payette; two sons, William Olson of Battle Mountain, Nev., and Paul G. Olson, serving with the armed forces in New Guinea; 17 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Grace Shanner of Washington, D.C., and a brother, Romaine Saunders of Lincoln, Nebraska. Services were conducted last Tuesday afternoon at the Landon Funeral Home, Rev. Unterseher of Baker, Oregon officiated. Interment was at the Riverside cemetery. • Begravet, 1947, USA, Idaho. John C. Olson, Dies At Boise John Christian Olson, 74, a resident of Payette since 1927, died at the Veterans hospital in Boise, July 24. A Spanish American War Veteran. Mr. Olson came to Payette from Weiser where he had previously lived. He was born in Aalborg, Denmark, May 15, 1873 and came to America at the age of 16. His wife, Mrs. Etta Olson, died in 1944. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Martha Williams, Payette; Mrs. Paula Bloomer, Yakima, Wa.; Mrs. Lola McIntire, Webster City, Iowa; Mrs. Grace Monteith, Caldwell; Mrs. Myrtle Brown, Baker, Ore.; Mrs. Olive Bradshaw, Boise; and Mrs. Ethel Doersch, Payette; and two sons, William E., Baker, Ore.; and Sgt Paul G. with the U.S. Army in Korea. There are eighteen grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Three sisters and four brothers, living in Denmark, also survive. Funeral services await arrival of Sgt.
