This world lost a heaven-sent man, but heaven is now blessed with his wonderful spirit. Roger was given to us June 15, 1925 and taken back March 31, 2005. Roger's life was full and we are comforted by our many wonderful memories of our adventures together, of his childhood antics, of our many camping and fishing trips, or just sitting on his lap cuddling. Roger's life was his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. After spending time with his family, Roger loved his volunteer work and visiting with his friends at the Kearns Senior Center. Roger married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Jean McCaffery, on November 21, 1944 in Manti, Utah while on leave from the Army. He then left to proudly serve his country in the European Theater during World War II.
Roger is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, David (Sharen) and Dennis; daughter, Jodi (Todd) Murphy; brothers, Bud (Ila), Morris (Theone), Lamar (Marilyn), Ray (Betty), and Gary (June); sisters, Beverly Albreicht, Dorothy Jorgensen, and Carol Mortensen; sister-in-law, Babs Jorgensen; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and oodles of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Emma Jorgensen; brother, Kent and sisters, Leda and baby Ruth.
The family wants to give a special thanks to the ICU team at the Cottonwood Hospital who worked so diligently to help Roger and allowed him to go with dignity. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5th, 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the mortuary.
